The Malibu City Council grabbed the low-hanging fruit but skirted the elephant in the room Monday, May 8, while discussing open space development and preservation options for Malibu parks.

The council voiced unanimous support for staff to investigate the development of a skate park and two-story community center building at the La Paz property. However, the future of Bluffs Park and its surrounding land remains uncertain, with the council and the public alike demonstrating passion on both sides of the issue.
