As of the early afternoon of Tuesday, July 11, many questions remained regarding the man’s body found on Broad Beach roughly 30 hours earlier.

Los Angeles County homicide detectives continue to investigate the incident, and the body is now in the possession of the LA County Coroner’s Office, said Sgt. Brad Johnson, of the Malibu/Lost Hill’s Sheriff’s Station.

“At this point, there’s no apparent criminal activity involved with this,” Johnson said.

Malibu/Lost Hills Sgt. D. Gonzalez said Monday that the individual is an adult male who is believed to be approximately 50 years old. Johnson said the man’s identity remained unknown as of Tuesday afternoon.

Police were alerted to the body at 6:23 a.m. July 10, after it was seen by a passerby.
