Isabella Chavira is a player on the Malibu Palms Volleyball club team.

When did you start playing volleyball and why?

I started playing in ninth grade because I wanted to play during high school. I liked it a lot, so I decided to play that instead of soccer.

What do you like most about playing volleyball?

It’s fast-paced and it’s always fun. My teammates are really nice.

What hobbies or activities besides volleyball do you like to do?

I like to watch movies and go to the beach with my friends. I like playing soccer, too, just for fun.

What is one of your favorite family vacation memories?

I got to go to New York and see my brother graduate from NYU.

What is your favorite school subject?

I like math because it’s straightforward.

Plans for after high school?

I haven’t thought about it that much, but I’m just going to go to college and see what happens.

Who is your favorite artist or band?

I like Foster the People. They’ve been one of my favorites since middle school.

Which language do you wish you could speak?

Probably Japanese. I’ve always wanted to go to Japan, but I’d want to go there and be able to understand what people are saying.

Who do you consider your role model?

Probably my brother. Everyone always likes him, he’s nice and he does great things.

What would your dream job be?

Something in the arts, like animating, maybe.
