Artists set up shop in Malibu Country Mart courtyard
The Malibu Country Mart is supporting local artists by partnering with the Malibu Art Association.
Every Friday this summer from July 21 through Sept. 8, artists of all levels will use the open courtyard (3835 Cross Creek Road) as their working studio. Shoppers and art lovers alike can watch the artists in action as they paint with oil and water paints or sketch beautiful masterpieces.
All the artwork will be available for purchase with 20 percent of the proceeds benefiting Malibu High School and Malibu Library.
The artists will be available from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Malibu Art Association is a nonprofit organization made up of a fellowship of artists dedicated to art appreciation, education and community service. The organization awards a yearly scholarship to a graduating high school senior with plans to continue their education in art and donates two art books to the Malibu Public Library.
The Malibu Art Association was founded in 1963 by Malibu artist Marjorie M Knowles.
